The film was able achieve these revenues thanks to a worldwide opening of $1.2 billion, the biggest of all time and nearly double the earlier record of $640.5 million which was held by Avengers Infinity Wars- the previous movie in the Avengers franchise. The movie also rewrote another one of Infinity war’s records, becoming the fastest movie to gross a billion dollars, achieving the feat in just 5 days as compared to 10 days. This has been among the few superhero movies that has received critical acclaim with a 95% approval rating on rotten tomatoes.
With a budget of about $360 million the movie will give Disney’s profits a good boost. With the acquisition of 20th Century Fox, Disney today has all of the top 5 highest grossing movies and 12 of the 16 highest grossing movies of all time.
