Heat magazine has released its annual rich list, revealing the UK’s most minted celebrities aged 30 and under in 2019. Prominent names including Sam Smith, Sophie Turner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Rita Ora and Dua Lipa all made it into the top 20.
Cara Delevingne and Zayn Malik made it into the top 10. And Maisie Williams ($5.8 million), George Ezra ($5.6 million), Jess Glynne ($5.6 million) and Tom Holland ($4.5 million) are some of the names that made their official debut on the ranking.
Based on factors such as sales, accounts, and endorsements, these are the UK’s richest celebrities aged 30 and under according to Heat magazine:
Sheeran overtook Adele, who turned 31 in May, as the richest celebrity in the UK. The 28-year-old singer-songwriter has nearly doubled his mammoth fortune to $219 million over the past year, thanks to his successful two-year Divide Tour. Catchy choruses and songwriting credits also played a role in Sheeran’s net worth, helping sell 150 million records worldwide.
His songs “I Don't Care ft. Justin Bieber” and “Beautiful People ft. Khalid” were among Spotify’s most streamed songs of the summer in the UAE (from June 1 to August 20th, 2019).
The actor made the bulk of his money through the Harry Potter franchise. The first movie, “Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone”, in 2001 earned him a reported $1.21 million when he was just 12 years old. By the eighth movie, “Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 2” in 2010, Radcliffe had made an impressive $19 million in total.
Since departing One Direction, Styles has pursued a successful solo career, releasing music and working on philanthropy and activism projects. He acquired an estimated $15 million from his debut concert tour, “Harry Styles – Live on Tour”, in 2017 and 2018. His estimated $82.6 million fortune has also amounted thanks to his $10 million deal as Gucci’s ambassador for the fashion label’s first gender-fluid fragrance, Mémoire d'une Odeur.
The English actress and activist also found success in the Harry Potter franchise and topped up her fortune with $15.5 million from American movie “Beauty And The Beast” in 2017. Watson is known for being vocal when it comes to gender equality and has been a United Nations Women Goodwill Ambassador since 2014.
Niall Horan is the second former member of One Direction to make it onto Heat’s list. Like his bandmates, he has also ventured into a successful solo career, with his “Flicker” world tour estimated to have earned him $11.3 million last year.
Sales from their five albums, arena-playing tour, endorsements and merchandise has all earned the fierce musical quartet a reported $16 million each.
Louis Tomlinson, who is set to perform at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena next year, has also led a positive solo career following his departure from One Direction. Aside from releasing new music, he was a judge on the hit reality show, X-Factor, last year, earning him $5.1 million.
Liam Payne is the fourth ex-One Direction member to land a spot on the annual ranking. The singer-songwriter teamed up with Hugo as its new global brand ambassador in April and launched the Hugo x Liam Payne capsule collection three months later.
