The C.A.T. Group was first established as the Contracting and Trading (C.A.T.) Company in 1937 by Emile Bustani, and incorporated in Lebanon in 1942 with partners Abdallah El Khoury and Shukri Shammas. The group was restructured in 1993 under “C.A.T. Holding S.A.” in Luxembourg. Today, the C.A.T. Group has corporate offices and branches in Luxembourg, Jersey, UK, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Lebanon, and Nigeria. It employs 15,000 people and has more than 4,500 pieces of equipment and machinery. The firm worked on the development of the Marina Towers in Lebanon and the Holiday Inn Hotel in Bahrain, among others.
