Schmitt oversees Orascom Hotels Management’s 34 hotels across six destinations. It employs more than 5,235 people. Before joining the company in 2018, Schmitt worked in Germany, Australia, Türkiye, India, Sri Lanka, China, and Egypt with international hotel companies such as Kempinski, Intercontinental, Oberoi, and Four Seasons. Orascom Developments Holding (ODH), the parent company of Orascom Hotels Management, reported revenues of $770 million in 2022, a rise of 28.1% year-on-year compared to 2021. ODH reported $2 billion in total assets in 2022.
