Van der Loo has 28 years of industry experience. He joined Pfizer in 1997, began overseeing the Middle East and Africa in December 2020, and was promoted to his current role in September 2022 to also cover Russia, Belarus, Caucasus, and Central Asia. Pfizer employs 79,000 people and has 39 manufacturing sites worldwide. In 2022, it recorded global revenues of $100.3 billion. In January 2023, Van der Loo was appointed chairman of the PhRMA Executive Board in the Middle East and Africa. In December 2022, he joined the board of the U.S. Africa Business Center at U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
