Viatris was formed in 2020 following a merger between Mylan and Pfizer’s Upjohn. Viatris’ portfolio comprises more than 1,400 approved molecules across a wide range of therapeutic areas, spanning both non-communicable and infectious diseases. The company employs more than 500 people in the Middle East, Türkiye, and Levant. Mokhtar—who has more than 20 years of experience—started his pharmaceutical career as a medical representative. He previously held roles at Sanofi and Upjohn, a division of Pfizer. Mokhtar also co-chairs the healthcare committee AmCham Abu Dhabi.
