Durand became CEO of NBB in 2016. It is the first locally-owned bank in Bahrain and also operates in Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E. The bank recorded revenues of $490 million and assets worth $12 billion in 2021. Its profits reached $146 million in the same year, an 8.5% increase compared to 2020. Durand also sits on the boards of Gulf Air, Batelco, and the Bahrain Islamic Bank. Before joining NBB, he was the regional CEO of BNP Paribas for the Middle East and Africa.
