DWE was founded in 2006 and aims to enhance the skills of Emirati women in the workforce. Ahli joined the DWE in 2008 and became CEO in April 2024. In March 2024, DWE signed an MoU with the Dubai Police to cooperate in organizing joint conferences and events and implementing training and development programs to enhance women’s professional skills and capabilities. Subsidiaries of DWE include the Dubai Ladies Club and The Cultural Office of Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
