Al Ruwaini founded the Pyramedia Group in 1998, which offers media services through its six subsidiaries: PyraComms, PyraDigital, PyraEducation, PyraEvents, PyraPro, and PyraStars. The group scouted and contracted talent or locations for movies like Pirates of the Caribbean, Aladdin, and Kingdom of Heaven. It has managed events such as the Abu Dhabi International Film Festival (formerly known as the Middle East International Film Festival). In July 2024, Al Ruwaini, hosted an International Emmy Awards Semi-Final Judging Round in Abu Dhabi. Al Ruwaini is also a member of the International Academy's Emmy Committee.
