Zainal founded Arzan VC in 2013, before which he worked at the Global Investment House’s private equity department. The firm made its 47th investment in U.A.E.-based ERP provider Hulexo in August 2024. In November 2024, the company partnered with Ahmad Takatkah to launch a revenue-based financing (RBF) company, Revenya Capital, to empower tech startups in MENA. The company’s fund I notable deals include Careem, which was acquired by Uber, POSRocket, acquired by Foodics, and Swvl. Zainal is also a board member of Al Amanah Holding and BBK Geojit Securities.
