In 2023, the Savola Group’s Savola Foods Company recycled up to 27,737 tons of oil waste into soap, biofuels, and chemical and poultry feed, and reduced its scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 15% compared to 2019. Its subsidiary, Panda, recycled 38,797 tons of wood and 18,084 tons of general material, or around 10% of the material it uses. The group also expanded its Negaderha Food Waste Management and Reduction Program, launching a year-long national awareness program ‘Recycle Food, Don’t Waste It,’ in partnership with the National Transformation Program, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water & Agriculture, and the General Food Security Authority.
