Akkad assumed his current position at Meta in 2022, having joined the company in 2017. In April 2024, the company launched its first MEA advisory board. Akkad sits on the boards of the Young Presidents’ Organization, Binghatti, CAFU, Enhance Fitness, Aliph Capital, Ard Dyar, the TAKREEM Foundation, and EMIR. He previously served as director for media partnerships at Meta, and he worked on Shahid, MBC Group’s Arabic VOD service, before joining Meta.
