El Chiaty founded Travco in Egypt in 1979. Today, the company has grown to include businesses in hospitality, aviation, transportation, real estate, engineering and construction, security services, retail, and merchandise. The company has around 4.5 million clients annually and has offices across Egypt, the U.A.E., Oman, and Jordan. In December 2023, Travco’s hospitality division, Jaz Hotel Group, acquired a property known as Oasis Pyramids and rebranded it to “Pyramids Resort by Jaz.”
