Kandil assumed her current role in September 2022 after being after being the Sub Governor at the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) for 17 years. She started her career at CBE in 2005 when she joined the external debt risk department and went on to work in the banking reform, international markets and portfolio management, and corporate communications departments. She sits on the board of TAQA Arabia. She also was a board member at Al-Ahly Capital’s microfinancing network, Tamkeen, as well as KAYAN Group.
