Al Tayer has been at the helm of DEWA since 1992. Since then, the company has established several other entities, including the Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation, the Etihad Energy Services Company, and Mai Dubai. DEWA made its debut on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) in April 2022. Over 65,000 regional and international investors participated in the IPO, raising $6.1 billion. The company plans to increase the amount of power it generates from clean energy sources to 100% by 2050. Al Tayer is also a member of the Dubai Executive Council and Strategic Affairs Council and is vice chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.
