El Hamamsy assumed his current role leading Orascom Development Holding (ODH) and its subsidiary Orascom Development Egypt (ODE) in 2020. ODH owns a land bank of over 100 million square meters across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, approximately 43% of which is developed or under development. Its hospitality portfolio includes 34 hotels with over 7,000 rooms. In 2024, the company reported a 16% increase in sales to $925 million and a 2% increase in revenues to $717 million. The company delivered over 2,000 units in 2024 and had more than 2,500 units under construction. El Hamamsy previously spent 18 years at McKinsey & Company.
