Yavi won the women's 3,000-meter Steeplechase at the Paris 2024 Olympics, breaking the Olympic record that had been set in 2008. She ranked first in the women's 3,000-meter category, as of October 15, 2024, according to World Athletics. Yavi won a gold medal at the World Athletics Championships, Budapest 2023, becoming the first athlete from Bahrain to win a steeplechase medal at the world championships. Kenyan-born Yavi started playing for Bahrain in August 2016. She is also a three-time Asian Games gold medalist.
