As the U.A.E’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Al Jaber signed an MoU to establish the U.A.E.-France Bilateral Climate Investment Platform in February 2024, to accelerate the deployment of joint clean energy projects and investments. He has been at the helm of ADNOC since 2016, leading a $23 billion decarbonization strategy and new low-carbon solutions business. He has also been the chairman of Masdar since 2014 and has served as the U.A.E.’s special envoy for climate change since November 2020. In December 2023, he became the first CEO to serve as COP President during COP28.
