In April 2024, GWC launched a food waste composting initiative to reduce the overall waste generated by its operations. In 2023, the company reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 1%, compared to 2022. It has a sewage treatment plant at the 500,000 sqm Bu Sulba Warehousing Park, which generated 156,773 m3 of water for irrigation and saved 20% of water consumption in 2023 compared to 2022. In September 2024, GWC joined the UN Global Compact (UNGC) to promote responsible business practices and Sustainable Development Goals.
