Águila assumed his current role in 2022. Hyatt’s EAME regional portfolio includes more than 70 properties. In the Middle East, Hyatt’s properties are in the U.A.E., Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and Jordan. In May 2024, Hyatt entered management agreements with Knowledge Economic City in Saudi Arabia for two new Hyatt hotels. The group’s EAME division recorded an EBITDA of $61 million in 2023, a growth of 30.4% compared to 2022. Águila began his career in private equity and management consulting and previously founded Alua Hotels and Resorts in 2014. In 2019, it was acquired by ALG, which became part of Hyatt in 2021.
