Hashem was appointed to his current role in January 2024, having joined Honeywell as president for Egypt and Libya in 2016. In May 2024, Honeywell signed multiple MoUs with the Iraqi government and private sector to support local energy infrastructure, including the cessation of gas flaring and the provision of development. Hashem is also chairperson of the energy committee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt and a board member of the Egyptian Export Council of Engineering Industries.
