Al Bastaki assumed her current role in January 2019. Dubai Design District (d3) cofounded Dubai Fashion Week (formerly known as Arab Fashion Week) with the Arab Fashion Council in February 2023. In November 2023, it signed partnerships with the Milano Durini Design Association, the Associazione Italiana Professionisti Interior Design (AlPi), and L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts, to establish a new campus in d3. Al Bastaki was previously the director of business development for Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City, and Dubai Production City.
