The Abu Dhabi-based Al Masaood Group was established in 1970 when it partnered with British company John Brown to bring the first gas turbine to Abu Dhabi and the Middle East and constructed the first desalination plant in the U.A.E. with Weir Westgarth. Today, the group operates in 18 sectors, with 50 companies employing 2,000 people. The group’s activities span automotive, industrial, business services, marine, and real estate, among other sectors. In May 2022, Al Masaood Power launched a U.A.E.-built smart electric charging solution “SHAMS+” for EVs and hybrid marine vessels. In July 2022, the group signed a distribution agreement with Sunstream International for the GCC, and joined the U.A.E.’s “TA’ZIZ” project.
