Al Marri has been advocating for women since 2003 when she was appointed as vice president of the Dubai Ladies Club. In 2006, she led the creation of the Dubai Women Establishment, where she is the managing director and chairperson. She has been the vice president of the U.A.E. Gender Balance Council since 2015. She is also a member of the board of trustees at the United Arab Emirates University and the president of the Dubai Press Club. In September 2024, she led the U.A.E delegation to the BRICS Ministerial Meeting on Women’s Affairs held in Russia.
