Al-Mayman assumed her current role in 2018, becoming the first GCC national to hold a leading position at UN Tourism. She oversees 13 member states, one special observer country, and 51 affiliate members. In May 2024, UN Tourism, in collaboration with Jordan's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, launched tourism investment guidelines for Jordan. In June 2024, UN Tourism partnered with the U.A.E. to integrate an e-platform for governing body meetings. Al-Mayman represents UN Tourism in the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism meetings at the League of Arab States. She was previously a board member of the UN Tourism’s Sustainable Tourism Eliminating Poverty Initiative for the Middle East.
