El-Azhary joined Vodafone Egypt in 2003 and assumed her current role in 2017. In November 2024, Telecom Egypt and Vodafone Egypt signed strategic partnership agreements valued at $609 million to enhance Vodafone's infrastructure, enabling expansion into integrated telecom services and the provision of 5G service. Vodafone Egypt reported $779.8 million in revenues for the six months ended September 2024. El-Azhary also held various senior leadership roles at Vodafone Qatar, including consumer business unit director and strategy director.
