Kafafi joined TAQA Arabia when it was established in 2006 and assumed her current position in 2013. In November 2024, TAQA Arabia, with its partner Voltalia, signed an MoU with the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy to explore the development of a 3.2 GW wind/solar power plant in the Suez Governorate to repower the Zafarana wind farm. Kafafi is also a board member of the Arabian Cement Company and the British Egyptian Business Association. She was previously the strategy & investment executive director at TAQA Arabia and vice president at EFG‐Hermes Investment Banking.
