Ajmal joined Mastercard in 2015 and assumed her current role in 2019 where she overseas 30 segments across 80 countries. Since then, she signed global and regional brands such as e&, Uber, Delivery Hero, Airtel, Amazon, MTN, Marriott, and McDonald’s. In September 2024, Mastercard and Amazon Payment Services signed a multi-year commercial partnership agreement to digitize payment acceptance across MEA. In October 2024, the company partnered with Orange Middle East and Africa to expand access to mobile financial services in seven African countries by 2025. In July 2024, it signed agreements with both Alshaya Group and LuLu Group International. Before Mastercard, Ajmal was CEO of the consumer bank franchise for Standard Chartered Malaysia. She also sits on the board of Take Back the Media, a blockchain-based media platform.
