Al Bahar was appointed to her current role in 2014. She has more than 30 years of industry experience and has overseen more than 8,500 people. In the first nine months of 2023, the bank reported profits of $1.5 billion. In October 2023, Al Bahar oversaw the first batch of the global leadership program for women, NBK RISE, training 20 women for executive management and board roles. Al-Bahar is also the chairperson of the National Bank of Kuwait France S.A. and the National Bank of Kuwait (Egypt) and a board member of the National Bank of Kuwait (International) P.L.C., the group’s U.K. subsidiary
