Forbes Middle East is proud to present the ranking of the ‘Most Transparent Charities in the MENA Region.’ To maximize credibility, this ranking focuses solely on non-profit charities. Furthermore, to ensure accuracy and legal compliance, the research team contacted the ministries of social affairs and other relevant government ministries in countries across the region to obtain official lists of registered charities. More than 2,050 charities were contacted. The charities were requested to provide their annual financial reports, audited by a certified auditing company, for the period ending 31 December 2011. These financial reports served as the basis of our research and helped determine the ranking of each charity.
