The economic impact of COVID-19 has left many industries struggling, but few more so than travel and tourism, which accounts for 10% of the global economy. According to the United Nation World Tourism Organization’s (UNWTO’s) Report on COVID-19 Related Travel Restrictions, by April 20, 100% of all worldwide destinations had introduced travel restrictions in response to the pandemic. Hotels have been closed and aeroplanes grounded.
