<p class="MsoNormal">The Madrid-based World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) on Thursday said that 2020 was the worst year on record for global tourism, with international arrivals declining 74% due to lockdown restrictions, ban on international travel and poor demand amid the COVID-19 pandemic. International arrivals declined by 1 billion during the last year. The last time a significant dip in international arrivals was recorded was during the 2009 global financial crisis when it dipped by 4%.</p>
