<p class="MsoNormal">In layman’s terms, Capital Account Convertibility allows foreigners to purchase domestic financial assets (shares, bonds, property, etc) and make investments in a country, and vice versa lets domestic investors purchase foreign financial assets without restrictions at market determined currency exchange rates. </p>
