<p class="MsoNormal">Much has been said and written about the healing powers of poetry – perhaps much craved for in these times of global crisis. “But rather a salve, poetry acts as an x-ray,” said Iraqi poet Dunya Mikhail in an interview with NPR in 2013, adding, “It helps you see the wound and understand it.” <span style="line-height:107%">Amidst the alienation and anxiety of the COVID-19 era, here are four poets, including Mikhail, whose work should be read, if just to expose the wounds rather than heal them.</span></p>
