<p class="MsoNormal">In the first penalty against a US company under a new EU data privacy system, social media giant Twitter has been fined $546,786 by Ireland’s data regulator for a bug that made some private tweets public. The fine has been imposed under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by Ireland’s Data Protection Commission (DPC). </p>
