<p dir="ltr"><span style="color:#000000">As the automotive industry transitions to electric vehicles, the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association said workers with a much different skill set would be needed, threatening mass layoffs in an industry that <span style="background-color:#ffffff">directly and indirectly employs 14.6 million people, which translates to about 7% of Europe’s workforce. The auto sector also accounts for about 8.5% of European manufacturing jobs.</span></span></p>
