<p class="MsoNormal">US pharma giant Pfizer on Friday applied to the US Food and Drug Administration for emergency use authorization of its COVID-19 vaccine.</p><p class="MsoNormal">The first such application comes days after Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech said final trial results showed the vaccine was 95% effective in preventing COVID-19 with no major safety concerns.</p>
