Many hospitals in low and middle income countries are facing oxygen shortages, with more than half a million people being impacted every day by the “oxygen emergency”, global health agency Unitaid and its partners said on Thursday. Supply of oxygen was constrained even prior to the pandemic, but increase in demand has exacerbated the situation.
