<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height:107%">Lebanon's macroeconomy is in dire straits as a result of exacerbated crises. The eruption and the pandemic have intensified the strains in the nation that have already been dealing with its worst economic crisis since the civil war of 1975-1990. In August, world leaders pledged more than $298 million in assistance to Lebanon at a French-led UN-backed Virtual Donor Meeting. </span></p>
