<p class="MsoNormal">In fresh trouble for Lebanon, pharmacies in the country began an indefinite strike Friday over a shortage of medicines. The shortage is due to the failure of the country’s central bank, Banque du Liban, to clear dues of foreign suppliers accumulated under a subsidy scheme. Notably, the country operates an annual subsidy program of $6 billion introduced in 2020 that includes key items such as medicine, wheat and fuel.</p>
