Crude oil prices have surged in the past few days, with Brent crude soaring to more than $74 per barrel, an increase by 245% from $21.44 a barrel on April 24, 2020, when demand for oil slumped amid the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic that caused lockdowns across the globe.
