<p class="MsoNormal">According to the Federal Statistics Office, retail sales rose 1.9% in November at a time when it was largely anticipated that the numbers would contract. Further, the Federal Labour Agency said the number of jobless fell a seasonally-adjusted 37,000 year on year in December.</p>
