French fashion houses Chanel and LVMH announced Friday a temporary suspension of their businesses in Russia, with electronics giant Samsung Electronics and payments company PayPal reportedly taking similar steps one day later, according to the firms' statements and media reports. International news agencies including Bloomberg News and CNN also decided to halt their operations in the aftermath of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
