The COVID-19 pandemic and the travel curbs resulted in airline passenger traffic falling by an unprecedented 67% in 2020 to the levels seen way back in 1999. Airline Insights Review 2020 released by aviation data firm Cirium said the pandemic had wiped out 21 years of global passenger traffic growth in a matter of months.
