<p class="MsoNormal">The trade union that represents Cathay Pacific Airways pilots said on Friday that the decision of the airline to lay off around 5,900 employees and force pilots to agree on contracts with lower salaries is a draconian and short-sighted move. The trade union is seeking legal advice on the issue that affects employees adversely, said Hong Kong Aircrew Officers' Association (HKAOA) General Secretary Chris Beebe.</p>
