Global air traffic fell by an unprecedented 65.9% in 2020, by far the sharpest decline in aviation history, on account of travel restrictions in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said on Wednesday. It also warned that new variants of Coronavirus and fresh travel restrictions pose a severe downside risk to demand recovery.
