The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) was established in 1946 to safeguard the lives of children struggling to survive in the aftermath of World War II and, in doing so, help rebuild and restore hope for a better future. UNICEF began enlisting the help of celebrities in 1954. Since then it has built up a distinguished roster of international, regional and national goodwill ambassadors who all share a commitment to improving the lives of children worldwide.
