Situated at the intersection where east meets west, Türkiye’s unique geographic location not only bridges two continents but places it at the crossroads of the Middle East, Europe, and Central Asia. With its rich legacy of cultural traditions combined with a modern-day lifestyle, Türkiye is known around the world for its cuisine, its exclusive archeological sites, and for being home to one of the world’s greatest cities, Istanbul. Today, Istanbul remains one of the most revisited cities globally and is a leading choice for second homes for thousands of citizenship-by-investment clients from all over the world.
With a youthful demographic profile and a governmental focus on guaranteeing business incentives and reforms, Türkiye has become one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. In the second quarter of 2021, following the implementation of the government’s new economic reform package in March 2021, the GDP expanded by a powerful and record-breaking growth of 21.7%, outperforming most of its fellow G20 nations. Under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s Vision 2023, Türkiye is investing US$400 billion to boost national infrastructure to garner its position amongst the top 10 performing countries in the world. Amongst other things, the Vision aims to boost GDP to US$ two trillion while transforming Istanbul into one of the 10 leading financial centers in the world.
With diverse projects underway in a number of sectors, Vision 2023 currently focuses on increasing national energy production through its mass wind turbines on the Aegean coast, as well as developing geothermal projects and constructing waste renewal plants. In the transport sector, the government is developing a 36,500 kilometer road network and 7,500 kilometers of highways. It also is looking to embark upon the construction of a US$45 billion investment to create 4,000 kilometers of new conventional railways and 10,000 kilometers of high-speed rail by the year 2023, which will be the largest network in any country following only China. Furthermore, the government has plans to expand its Istanbul New Airport and, in early 2021, unveiled an ambitious 10-year space program, in which a first contact with the moon is planned by 2023.
Türkiye’s path to prosperity and its capacity and potential for rapid economic growth has allowed it to move confidently towards a new era of investment, fully equipped with investor-friendly policies, reforms, and incentives to boost infrastructure, production, jobs, and exports; driven by a celebratory vision that looks to honor the 100th anniversary of the Republic.
