5 Arab Designers You Need To Look Out For At Fashion Forward Dubai

Award-winning and highly sought-after designers will once again be displaying inspirational couture and easy ready-to-wear designs this year’s Fashion Forward Dubai at the end of the month. Some have been made famous by celebrities spotting their brands, while others have just bravely struck out to fulfill their entrepreneurial dreams. Here are five designers that you need to take note of:

Reema Al Banna
Brand: Reemami
Nationality: Palestinian

Al Banna is known for her stylish and cool attires, which often feature silhouettes and patterns that are architectural, cool and edgy. Starting her award-winning label Reemami in 2010, she got her break when she won a design competition hosted by a local boutique.  Her loyal customers include celebrities and fashion personalities such as Queen Rania, Bella Hadid and Kelly Rowland among many others.

Hessa Al Falasi
Brand: Hessa Al Falasi
Nationality: Emirati

Al Falasi launched her own line of modest wear in 2011. Her designs are inspired by life, travel, Arabic culture, and traditions. Her store offers luxury abayas, coats and travel wear inspired by both the UAE and the world. Her customers include royals and other high net worth individuals in the GCC.

Hazem Kais
Brand: The Master Peace, Goodkill 
Nationality: Lebanese

Kais graduated from Creative Space Beirut, a fashion school in Lebanon that provides free education for those who lack the resources to pursue an advanced degree. In 2017, Kais founded a brand called “The Master Peace”, which promotes a message of peace and unity through art and design. He will be debuting his new brand “Goodkill” with his first collection at the Fashion Forward Dubai 2019.

Arwa Al Banawi
Brand: Arwa Al Banawi
Nationality: Saudi Arabian

Al Banawi launched her own brand in 2015 after graduating from the London College of Fashion in Dubai. Her brand specializes in producing contemporary women’s ready-to-wear for “women on the go”. It connects between high-end fashion and streetwear by blending Saudi traditions and an “east meets west perspective”. Al Banawi uses her brand as a platform to empower women and uses inspiration from her travels. She received a designer of the year award 2019 from Grazia style awards.

Yousef Al Jasmi
Brand: Yousef Al Jasmi
Nationality: Kuwaiti


Al Jasmi owns both Yousef Aljasmi haute couture and Yousef Aljasmi Bride. His brand offers ready-to-wear designs, accessories and bridal wear among others. Celebrities spotted wearing his designs include Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, and Kylie Jenner.
